Anti Slip Tape and Strips for Stairs, Tiles and Walkways

0

Improve grip on stairs, tiles, ramps and walkways with our range of anti slip tape in South Africa. These self-adhesive safety

products add a textured, high-grip surface to areas where slipping may occur.
They are suitable for homes, workplaces, warehouses, schools and commercial properties.

Choose an anti-slip tape roll when you need flexible lengths or different tape widths. Choose pre-cut anti-slip strips when you need a quick, consistent solution for individual steps. Both options are designed to improve traction without replacing the existing floor surface.

Choose the Right Anti-Slip Solution

Anti-slip tape rolls and pre-cut strips provide similar grip, but they are suited to different types of installations. Use the comparison below to choose the best option for your stairs, floor or walkway.

Anti-Slip Tape Rolls

Non- Slip Tape on a roll gives you the flexibility to cut each section to the
required length. It is the most practical option for multiple stairs,
long walkways, ramps and surfaces with different dimensions.

  • Available in 25mm, 50mm and 100mm widths
  • Cut each section to the required length
  • Suitable for narrow edges and wider walking surfaces
  • Available in standard and high-visibility colours

Pre-Cut Anti-Slip Strips

Pre-cut strips are ready to position and apply. Their fixed dimensions make it easier to create a consistent layout across individual stair treads without measuring and cutting each strip from a roll.

  • Fixed size of 61 × 15cm
  • Quick and consistent installation
  • Suitable for individual stairs and steps
  • Available in black and black/yellow

Anti-Slip Tape Rolls or Pre-Cut Strips?

Select a roll when the required lengths vary or when you need to cover a larger area. Select pre-cut strips when all steps require the same size and you prefer a ready-to-apply solution.

Choosing the Right Anti-Slip Tape Width

The best tape width depends on the size of the surface and the amount of coverage required. Wider tape creates a larger high-grip area, while narrower tape allows more precise placement.

25mm Anti-Slip Tape

Choose 25mm tape for narrow edges, smaller surfaces and areas where precise positioning is important. It can be used along the front section of a step or on surfaces where a wider strip would be impractical.

50mm Anti-Slip Tape

The 50mm width is a practical general-purpose choice for standard stairs, entrances, walkways and everyday safety applications. It provides a wider contact area while remaining easy to position.

100mm Anti-Slip Tape

Choose 100mm tape when broader coverage is required on wide steps, ramps, platforms or busy walking areas. The larger surface area makes it suitable for locations where a clearly visible grip zone is preferred.

Available colours differ by roll size.

Where Can Anti-Slip Tape Be Used?

Self-adhesive grip tape can be applied to many firm, smooth and properly prepared surfaces. Common residential and commercial applications include:

  • Indoor and outdoor stairs
  • Tiled steps and floor areas
  • Wooden or painted stair treads
  • Entrance areas and access points
  • Ramps and sloped walkways
  • Warehouses and workshops
  • Schools, offices and public buildings
  • Platforms and designated walking routes

The surface must be stable, clean and dry when the tape is installed.
Dust, grease, loose paint, moisture and strongly textured surfaces can reduce adhesion. Check the condition and suitability of the surface before completing the full installation.

Anti-Slip Tape for Stairs and Steps

Smooth stair treads can provide limited grip, particularly near the front edge of the step. Applying non-slip tape creates a textured contact area that can help people and pets move more securely up and down the stairs.

Position each strip consistently and leave enough space from the edge to help prevent it from lifting during use. A 25mm or 50mm roll is suitable when you want to cut individual lengths.
Use pre-cut anti-slip strips when you prefer wide, ready-sized sections for each step.

Anti-Slip Tape for Tiles and Smooth Floors

Anti-slip tape can add traction to suitable tiled and smooth floor
surfaces in entrances, passages, work areas and around access points.
Before application, remove dirt, grease and cleaning-product residue so that the adhesive can make direct contact with the surface.

Apply the tape only when the area is completely dry. Adhesion may be reduced on loose, dusty, porous, heavily textured or continuously wet surfaces. Testing a small section first is recommended when the surface condition is uncertain.

Standard and High-Visibility Colour Options

Colour can be selected to suit the appearance and safety requirements of the area. Black provides a more discreet finish, while black/yellow hazard tape makes steps, edges and changes in floor level more noticeable.
Additional colours are available for selected roll sizes.

High-visibility traction tape is particularly useful in commercial areas, warehouses, workshops and access routes where the grip area should also function as a visual warning.

How to Apply Self-Adhesive Anti-Slip Tape

  1. Inspect the surface.
Make sure it is firm, smooth and suitable for an adhesive product.
  2. Clean the area.
Remove dust, dirt, oil, grease and other residue.
  3. Allow the surface to dry.
Do not apply the tape to a damp or wet surface.
  4. Measure and mark the position.
Plan a consistent layout before removing the backing.
  5. Cut the required length.
Use a suitable cutting tool when installing tape from a roll.
  6. Apply from one end.
Remove the backing gradually and avoid trapping air underneath.
  7. Press down firmly.
Apply even pressure across the complete strip, especially around the
    edges and corners.
